Left & Right: A Guide to Swearing and Your Brain

A project exploring swearing and its effects on our psychology. The book explores the left and right hemisphere concept literally, using the two opposing pages of each spread to represent each, as the book explores each hemisphere's functions and how it reacts in different contexts.

From the starting point of "mind your language", this visual book explores how foul language affects our brains; through the differences in the left and right hemispheres, aphasia, and different social contexts. The left pages of the book visually represent the analytical left hemisphere and the right pages represent the emotional right hemisphere.

The type of the right hemisphere gets increasingly agitated as the book goes on, expressing the anger of swearing overtaking the left hemisphere's analytical functions.
